I think the reason it's taboo to eat dog meat some places is because dogs are domesticated. And maybe haram, LoL.

I think the reason it's taboo to eat dog meat some places is because dogs are domesticated. And maybe haram, LoL.
if you actually look at the word domesticated it basically means animals that humans have influence over the care and reproduction of, which include sheep, cows and pigs, domesticated animals that are kept for companionship are called pets, others are usually used for work (camels/donkeys/horses etc) or livestock (sheep/cows/pigs/chickens etc)
dogs are the oldest domesticated animals then followed by sheep, pigs and cattle, funnily enough "domesticated dogs" are thought to of originated in east asia/china

Dogs are kept as pets and treated as a member of the family so it would feel somewhat cannibalistic to eat them. IQ isn't a criteria.
