A Drunken Foreigner Tried to Attack the Hotel Staff
Phnom Penh: According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News: staffs at Lux hotel had been running on each other as a Drunken foreigner arrived in a Tuk Tuk from nowhere to the hotel and then he began attacking hotel staff and smashing down the hotel’s properties which caused the hotel staff running away from the hotel. After that he went and began attacking travellers on the road. This incident happened around 3:30 am on 05 Jan 2016 at Lux hotel along street 136, Phsar Kandal I commune, Daun Penh district.
According to hotel staff, before the incident happened, the foreigner arrived in a tuk tuk and then he asked for the price of the room and all of a sudden, the foreigner began acting strangely and damaging the hotel’s properties and later the foreigner tried to attack him (staff) as well and then he ran out aiming to attack other people which he later ended up damaging the cart selling beef stick and meatball. The cart was severely damaged with the meatball scattered all over the road. Having seen this onlookers and passer-by intervened.
The passer-by and motordop came to stop him and talked to him to compensate the cart owner for the damage. He agreed to pay 50 dollar to the cart owner to finish it and he also agreed to pay the hotel for any damages. However, the hotel staff asked him to wait and meet with their boss.
According to the source, in this incident there is not intervention from the local authority only from the hotel staff and passer-by. It is not sure whether the hotel will file a lawsuit against the foreigner for damaging the hotel properties.
