Drunk Driver Refuses to Leave Car, Almost Towed Away

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Sen Sok district police, who were conducting a stop and search operation for weapons, explosives and alcohol, arrested a drunk driver who tried escape in his car at 11:30 pm on Mong Rithy Street, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

A man driving a black Range Rover was said to be visibly drunk, when police tried to stop his car and he forced his way through the check-point and kept driving until he was forced to a stop by police.

According to the source, after the car was stopped, the drunk driver locked his car and refused to get out. The officials then blocked the car and maintained surveillance at the scene.

The stand-off was resolved when the police tow-truck arrived to remove the vehicle from the scene, and the driver left the car to be placed under arrest by police.
