Drunk Domestic Fight Leads to Murder by Screwdriver
Cambodia News (Svay Rieng): A woman was arrested in a case of domestic violence, after she stabbed her drunk husband to death at 8:30 pm, on April 12, 2021, in Reusey Kang Cheung village, Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng.
The police reported that the couple are both farmers, aged 48. Before the incident, the man was drunk, and he argued with his wife. After that, he left the house and went to his neighbor's. But his wife followed him to that house with a screwdriver, and then she stabbed her husband in the chest, causing him to die at the scene.
Village locals say that the victim and the suspect always argued with each other when they got drunk.
The police went to the scene to examine the body and then returned the body to the family for funeral preparation. The suspect was arrested for case preparation.

Re: Drunk Domestic Fight Leads to Murder by Screwdriver
What you have to understand is that after people are arrested in Cambodia they may be detained in jail for a long time. Only the important people (with money/connections) get their cases heard rapidly.
Some of these cases take YEARS before they get to court. If you think that's crazy, then think how the accused people in pre-trial detention must feel. 2-3 years is not unsual.
Last year, the Cambodian justice system announced that they were speeding up the cases of pre-trial accused: newsworthy/interior-minister-says-priso ... 38457.html
From 2020:
According to statistics released by Sar Kheng in March, there are currently 39,000 detainees in Cambodian prisons, around 11,000 of which have been convicted of a crime, leaving more than two-thirds of the total inmates on pre-trial detention.
