Drunk Chinese Smashes His Lexus into Tuk Tuk and Tries to Run Away

Phnom Penh: On May 1 at 1 am, a drunk Chinese man smashed into a tuk tuk at high speed in Sangakt Teuk Tlar, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, a Lexus RX300 car plat no. PP2N-0345, which was driven by a Chinese national with another Chinese man as a passenger, was traveling at high speed in the direction from west to east on Russian boulevard,when it smashed into a tuk tuk which was going in the same direction. The tuk tuk driver was seriously injured, he was taken to hospital immediately.

After the crash, the Chinese man tried to drive away from the accident scene, but their car was broken and they stopped after 200metres.

The police went to check the scene and the two Chinese in the Lexus were detained for questioning. The damaged car and the tuk tuk were taken to be kept temporarily at the police station awaiting examination and legal charges.

If it’s the same accident, we’ve just heard about our tuk tuk driver friend from Airforce Bar on 104 who was in an accident last night.

Some of you will probably recognize him.

We have heard that he died this morning but that is unconfirmed.
Really hope it’s not true.

That' s really sad. There are too many drunken twats racing through PP streets after dark, and tuktuks are not made to get smashed into at high speed by big cars.
I hope the killers get locked up and the guy's family at least gets some money. Not that that will bring him back. RIP
