This is a totally fucked up video that shows 2 drunk Cambodian men hang a dog by it's neck until it dies. They both just laugh at the whole thing and get back to drinking beers.

Not sure what province this happened in.

Popular Khmer superstition states that if you eat the meat of a black dog or drink its blood, any internal illnesses you may have will be cured. This is only true, though, if the dog has no white or brown spots anywhere on its body.

Commonly referred to as koh dtreuk in Khmer, or simply sait chkaeh, there are numerous ways to cook and serve dog in Cambodia.

Dog-meat soup is popular in Cambodia, particularly in the countryside. Called somlah majew kreung, it is a combination of dog meat, bones, head and organ meat mixed with young tamarind leaves, water and lime juice to create a tangy sour soup. The dish is very similar to the popular sour chicken soup served in Khmer restaurants across the country.

I've talked to a whole lot of Cambodians about eating dog meat, and nearly all of them have said that they think it's disgusting and would never do it. There are obviously restaurants around that sell dog meat, but not everybody eats it. That video was a bit gross to say the least, but I'd imagine the guy was playing it up for the camera. Fucking smart-phones, they make every imbecile think that they are movie stars and can ride the wrong way through junctions or grin while they're doing something fucking stupid.

I didn't even watch the video.
Black dog is supposed to be the best to eat, but Khmer people told me only vietnamese eat dog. I don't think this is true, but it does indicate that eating dog is not "mainstream" in cambodia. They tell me that such and such restaurant sells dog meat but that they never go there - however, all the clientele are not vietnamese, of course.
I have seen westerners buying a puppy to eat in the Philippines. I will never forget it.

I had the same story. I had all my dogs stolen one after another. Then, one day our villagers catch the thief and guess what he was beaten almost to death.
