Drug Traffickers Arrested with Most Amazing Homemade Gun Ever

Cambodia News (Kandal): On January 12, 2021, at Talon village, Saang district, Kandal, 3 suspects were arrested with 22 packs of drugs and sent to the police station following the legal procedure.

The suspects were identified as Yort Yangdong, 15 years old, Bunnara Rak, 30 years old, and Lot Reth, called Klem, 25 years old. The police confiscated 22 packs of drugs for 6,06 grams and a homemade gun and some drug equipment.

The suspects with evidence were sent to Saang police station for case preparation.

I’m struggling to figure that gun out, it looks like a variation on the old hairspray powered potato cannon, the blue piping arrangement being the combustion chamber and the white plastic pipe is the barrel or holds a metal barrel (possibly the two metal tubes with fittings look like they could screw together to make a longer barrel) which fitted into the white pipe could fire steel balls.
Anyone else got any thoughts on this one?

That's pretty much what it is, but it's hard to figure out what the hell is going on with the tubing. The white plastic tube looks like the barrel, and maybe it fires those arrow things above. Fuck knows but they can be lethal.

The hollow steel leg of our school chairs was good. (Port Kembla steel)
Cut two of the supporting struts just right and it holds like a Tommy gun. sort of.
Crimp/bend the breach stopped.
You gotta hold it with a thick T-shirt padding for your hands.
Make damm sure there isn't a living thing within two miles in the field of fire - 'doesn't matter how many brick walls are in between.
Muzzle load with a lit penny bunger (the 303 round of the schoolboy wars against the neighbourhood) and drop in a marble.
Kabboom. You never knew what was going to happen.

Just a novelty really, once a year kind of stuff. Despite all the excitement and bravado, nobody seemed too keen to fire a second round - until your body had forgotten all the numbness, joint wrenching and bone-ache.
Lucky we didn't have real guns. We were foolish enough with just airguns, sky rockets, penny and tuppenny bungers and the like.

It looks quite similar to something that a former staff member of mine built during his lunch breaks. His had to be primed with a footpump and took 2 to 3 mins between firing each shot.
He used to sit on the first floor balcony and shoot at rats on the neighbouring vacant plot.
He left me to become a soldier of fortune.
