Credulous woman swops her jewelry for sand
A lady was swindled by 3 fraudsters, receiving sand in return for jewelry.
This incident happened on the morning of the day before yesterday at 8.30am in the Sen Sok District. The victim was a 41 year old lady who lived the Teuk Thla Area of the Sen Sok District.
The victim lodged a police report saying that she before the incident, she was in doing grocery shopping in the Teuk Thla market when a woman approached her asking whether she had picked up a bag. Immediately after this, another woman appeared saying that the victim was the one who picked up the bag which had gold in it. The victim asked the two not to accuse her of the act and opened the bag to prove herself. However, the bag seemed like it had a lot of gold.
After that incident, the victim drove a motorcycle with the two women mentioned above and a man away from the market to a quiet area of the Oubakkeraun area of Sen Sok district. One of the women opened the bag and showed it to the victim, she then offered the gold in the bag to her. The victim was tempted and offered the jewelry on her body to the women in exchange for one or two pieces of gold.
The two women who took the jewelry quickly left the scene which made the victim feel that something was not right. She opened her bag only to find out that there was only sand in it and no gold.
After that incident, the victim reported the incident to the police. The police are currently investigating this case of fraud.
