Commune deputy held over stolen bike

Post by AlonzoPartriz »

Doesn't say which party he's a member of. Does it need to?
Never buy a bicycle without a receipt. I expect he does have one, which the courts will discover is a forgery. The CPP chiefs will sacrifice one of their go to guys for stolen goods, and they'll both end up in prison. The thief for one month and the CNRP guy for 30 years.
Just sayin.

Ratanakkiri provincial police are questioning the second deputy chief of Bor Keo district’s Ting Chak commune who has been accused of making money from stolen goods.

The suspect was identified as Vat Saroeun, 38, who works as a motorbike repairman in addition to his role as second deputy commune chief.

District police officer Tan Pise said Mr Saroeun was arrested after a stolen motorbike was found at his house.

He is accused of receiving money from stolen goods and possibly colluding with the thief of the bike.

“According to a police complaint, Mr Saroeun received the proceeds of stolen goods. We don’t know if he also cooperated with the thief. Police are working on that,” Mr Pise said.

“The motorbike owner, who lives in Banlung city, had been looking for his bike and found it at Mr Saroeun’s house in Bor Keo district.”

Provincial police said Mr Saroeun was being questioned at the minor crimes office.

Chea Pich, a provincial court prosecutor, confirmed the arrest.

He said Mr Saroeun was likely to appear in court this morning

If he was CNRP they would have led with that. As a loyal member he is not named as a party member.
Agree the sentences are related to political leanings and as evidenced by the 3 blokes jailed for the bashing outside parliament related to alleged assault of guards at a rally??????

Not really, it's Ratanakiri where there are only 2 CNRP communes compared to the CPP's 48.
Never buy a bicycle without a receipt.
There's nothing in the story about a bicycle.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
