The river levels aren't controlled from up there - most water comes from tributaries lower down. Anyway drought is to do with rainfall, not river levels.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 6:31 am Drought is over when the CCP China says it’s over. River levels are controlled from the dams up there.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

MRC Detects Extreme Drought in Northeast Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, July 23, 2020 --
The Mekong River Commission says satellite imageries have detected extreme drought in parts of northeast Cambodia, southern Laos and the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
According to the latest weekly forecast by the MRC’s Regional Flood and Drought Management Centre in Phnom Penh, other areas in the same region are suffering moderate to severe drought.
Elsewhere in Cambodia, the area around Takeo province in the southwest is experiencing moderate drought.
The weekly forecast said soil moisture in the catchment area of the Sekong, Season and Srepok rivers had been “relatively dry” this month.
For the Lower Mekong Basin overall “accumulated rainfall in July is forecasted to be less than long-term average especially in the Northern and Eastern parts.”

More Rain Expected across Cambodia from Tomorrow
AKP Phnom Penh, August 04, 2020 --
More rain, from low to heavy, is expected to come across Cambodia, from Aug. 5 to 11, according to the new forecast released this morning by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM).
The ministry thus appealed to people to keep their vigilance of possible phenomena such as thunder, lightning, gusts, and high waves.
During this period, it pointed out, the temperature would vary between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius for the central lowland areas, from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius for the mountainous areas in the north and northeast, and between 24 and 32 degrees Celsius in the coastal areas.
Late last week, MOWRAM issued heavy rain and flash flood warnings from Aug. 1 to 5 due to the influence of the Sinlaku storm. The provinces at the Dangrek Range and northeastern highland areas as well as the coastal areas are the most affected.
