Chinese Woman Found Dead on Sihanoukville Beach

Cambodia News, (Sihanoukville) : A Chinese woman is reported to have died on the beach at 10:00am on September 1, 2021 in Group 17, Village 4, Sangkat 4. Sihanoukville City.
Immediately after receiving the information, the local police went to check the scene. They found the body of the woman lying on the beach face up near the water’s edge. She appeared to have committed suicide, according to the police.


By a strange coincidence, the victim, identified as XIE QIYING, a 21-year-old Chinese woman, was staying at “Chang Chheng” Hotel and Casino, ( Room 907). The Chang Chheng Casino was already in the news today after the report of a US$110,000 heist from a casino room safe on 28 August, 2021.Three suspects have already been taken into custody by Sihanoukville police.

Authorities do not immediately know the cause of the Chinese woman's death and the body is currently waiting for a post mortem examination to be conducted. The body of the deceased woman is reported to have some scars or injuries and there are unconfirmed reports that another Chinese woman was present on the beach at the time of death.

The Chinese media has reported the death as a suicide even before the autopsy, despite the strange circumstances surrounding the young woman's death.

This is most disturbing. The timing. The pattern. The coincidences. Dying a staged suicide and that death being nonchalantly shrugged off as such by the coroner or forensic pathologist is a sad saga.
