Forest Gambling Raid Yields 2 Dead Cocks, $1000, Four Cars and More

Cambodia News (Kampong Cham): On May 17, 2020, at 2 pm, Kampong police force cracked down cock-fighting ring and gambling den and arrested ten people* in the forest in Cheung Prey District, Kampong Cham.
The police confiscated a bounty of two dead cocks, one bag, 13 motorbikes*, a mirror, four cars*, money for 3,510,000 riels and 1,000 USD, and some other gambling equipment.

The raid was ordered by General lieutenant Em Kosal, Kampong Cham police chief, on direct orders by lieutenant Thanh Sokkhun, director of criminal police, together with Cheng Prey local police forces.

The suspects and the evidence were sent to Kampong Cham police station for questioning and case preparation according to the order of Mr. Sothea Piseth, the prosecutor of Kampong Cham court.

* Note that police seized 13 motorbikes and 4 cars, but only made 10 arrests.

There was a cock-fighting ting near SR. The cars regularly parked outside were all top-of-the-line, many with government plates.
