Clampdown on Sex-Work Advertising in Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I do not know what is the status of the Chinese men visiting brothels in Cambodia, however, in Lao Cai in north Vietnam where a river separates them from China, where Chinese men regularly walk across the bridge into the Vietnamese town to visit brothels.

The results is that prostitutes in Lao Cai have the highest rate of HIV infection then compared to the rest of the country. Chinese men insist on no condoms with the Vietnamese sex workers. It is also the case that HIV infections among sex workers across Vietnam is higher in the north than in the south, which is alarming considering the greater abundance of sex workers in the south. Chinese men appear to be the common denominator and to blame for the higher infection rate. South Vietnamese sex workers largely avoid Chinese customers.

I share that idea. I don’t give a rat’s crapped arse if some busty babe is juggling off some paying dude, good for them, but for Christ’s sakes those places are easily avoidable unlike leaflets pushed in my face.

I'm disappointed to learn that biased 'reporting' to suit the interests of one type of reader happens on CEO.

Why has no one mentioned before now that naked men in sexy poses are on the advertising materials?

Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

I'd be shocked by those prices as well!
