Re: Clampdown on foreigners living in Cambodia with illegal documents
Honestly, in primitive societies, the rules change. So I say, racism is **mostly right**, in Cambodia, right now. Remember those qualifications, with exceptions please, and please don't misquote me or twist my words. Thank you.
PRIMITIVE SOCIETIES
Take for example prisons worldwide — often drawn on racial lines. Primitive society.
Another example would be inner-city America — primitive, and usually drawn on racial lines.
The deep, rural, Confederate South (forgive me my rebel brothers) — but usually drawn on racial lines. Simple society.
Any more questions, my well-meaning poster?

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.
Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

Disagree 100%.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2017 3:48 pm wiki is not always the truth, but only what someone wrote, can be changed, corrected, amended.
not exactly the best source for "this is the truth"
Other sources mostly state their point of view.
wiki allows constant peer-editing by specialists, regardless of which side they come from..
Do CNN/Fox/BBC allow that? No. Why?
Wiki is not perfect, but it's way better than sources that filter and refuse any edits.

The report is from 2013. The anti-Vietnamese sentiment was stirred up by Sam Rainsy over many years for political points.SmartAston Martin wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2017 5:43 pm
"In recent years, field research carried out by Ehrentraut in 2013 suggested that ethnic relations between Vietnamese have deteriorated not only with the ethnic Khmer, but also with the Cham and Chinese Cambodians.[51]"

I tend to believe that an us/ them mentality exists deep within our crocodile brains and cannot be denied. Us monkeys think we're smarter than our evolutionary abilities. 100 000 years or so is not long enough.chorlton wrote:SAM youre not making sense to me now , sorry

I do agree with this part. Somehow Teochew dispora seems to find each other no matter the country they imigrate to.Then, some of them had to leave Vietnam for whatever reason, and ended up here, no doubt. So there are a few Chinese-Viet-Cambodians here now, through the long circuit of emigration, China-->Vietnam-->Cambodia. And mostly marrying Chinese ... Funny ...

More than 2,300 foreigners deported [this year so far]
The government’s crackdown on illegal immigrants has resulted in more than 2,300 being deported and barred permanently from the kingdom so far this year.
Lieutenant General Uk Heisela, director of investigations at the Interior Ministry’s immigration department, said officials arrested and deported 2,357 illegal immigrants.
“These immigrants were of 51 different nationalities. Of this, 1,220 deportees were Vietnamese,” he said.
Last year, the government’s crackdown against offending foreigners resulted in 3,376 immigrants being deported and barred permanently from the kingdom. They were comprised of 63 nationalities but the vast majority – 2,453 – were Vietnamese.
Since April 2014, when the government established the general department of immigration, nationwide statistics show that 14,018 foreigners from 85 countries have been deported and permanently barred from entry into the kingdom.
Of them, 10,908 – or nearly 78 percent – were Vietnamese nationals.
