Clampdown on foreigners living in Cambodia with illegal documents

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

it is not like we are on here inspecting every thread 24/7
even so- if we delete an attack thread the poster has a giant meltdown like a big baby and we get accused of overmodding -if we do not notice it we get lambasted for undermodding

if posts are not reported we often will not know

Yeah, JB's notorious for giving new posters short shrift.

Also, there are a select few that he's got a hard-on for, like NKOTB and explorer.

God help you if you get on his radar, he's relentless.

Speaking of which, I'm gonna call it a night and pray he doesn't read this....

both of these posters get a lot of unwarranted harassment by other members for entirely unobjectionable posts and it is going to stop.

I, Arget, excel in the dark art of good natured ribbing. Which is, as we all know, much more innocuous than what is currently under discussion.

If that storied talent exceeds your mental grasp, tis no concern of mine, tut-tut and a double =@ =@ to you good sir.

Yeah, sorry guys, I didn't mean to "pound him into the ground". :please:
I feel really terrible for posting such an awful sarcastic reply to a guy who just innocently joined up and within 3 posts managed to write off all the foreigners in this country without having a clue what he was talking about. I'll try and be nicer to everyone from now on, except for those Vietnamese boat people, they can fuck off, it's the last time I'm defending them.

I think ( personal opinion) Cambodia is being too nice to foreigners in the country, so some expats turned generosity in to indulgences, so maybe that’s why.
So the centuries old conflict and animosity between Khmers and Viets is the fault of foreigners because a guy you work with happens to be very pleasant? How does that work?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Seems to me JB has potentially scared or pissed off 2 members with his diplomacy.

Surely it's not over modding if the CEO's policy is to not personally attack other members?

I have since reported the 'go hang yourself' post and I note it's now removed...good. You did also say about 5-6 posts below the removed post that you too were confused with the thread...so I gather you must have read the thread but missed the offensive post..

Seems to me other members have been banned for a day or a week for what I would have thought were less offensive posts..however, JB gets off scot free. Yet..from Username Taken's post further up he's been told to lighten up with new members before. So he's been warned before but continues..

I do think this forum is pretty well run and the mods have a difficult job at the best of times...but it just appears inconsistent to me on this occasion.
