For me, this girl is "beautiful" because she is only 19. She could have died, but now she has a life ahead of her. That is beautiful, isn't it ?

Very nice words Anchor Moy, let's hope together that this young girl gets herself sorted, and does go on to have a happy life.
The bridge is hell of an attraction for attempted and suicides, it's never a good thing when a person gets to the point of taking their own life. It would be good if these desperate people of despair could talk of their problems before getting to this stage, either with friends and family, or even possibly better still, a trained counsellor.

Nice words, I hope she will recover from her traumas. Not only in this news, often here they use adjective "beautiful" in the news, for example when girl slams a car into food stall or so... If they dont use adjective beautiful, than means she is ugly?

A 19-year-young woman always looks beautiful in the eyes of an older man, regardless. This implies the state of whoever originally wrote the article

Uni Student Suspected Drowned

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On January 29, 2022, a 26-year-old man, a Build Bright university student called Pao Sodaly, from Phsar Touch area in Sangkat Russey Keo, has been missing after jumping from Chroy Changvar bridge into the Mekong river.
The young man left a Today motorbike (PNH 1HO-8587) standing on the bridge. It was taken to the police station while they search for the victim's relatives.

It's past time for building safety nets, out from and under the bridges rails , so anyone jumping lands on a '' safety net''.. If the nets have a 8 '' to 10 '' mesh its a bit hard to stand up on it to continue your jump if your legs are dangling through.

That’s why they have them in prisons, and to stop you being thrown off.

If someone wants to do it they’ll find another way. Plus who’ll do the upkeep? Can you imagine the state of them in six months.

I suppose that they don't want to put any safety measures in place, more so because the jumpers would no doubt find another alternative. I suppose the bridge offer's that they may change their minds, or someone will come to their aid. 50/50 chance maybe for some.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 21 November 2022, the body of a 13-year-old girl who jumped from the Chroy Changvar Bridge at 8:30 pm on 20 November 2022 was found floating by the river banks at 8:30 am on 21 November, at Sangkat Chbar Ampov 2, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.

According to the sister of the victim, the deceased suffered from meningitis and a poor memory, but that doesn't explain her action. She explained that her sister went to the Chroy Changvar bridge and then jumped off, leaving behind a bag containing only a Korean language book and her cell phone.

The police contacted the family of the young woman on the evening of 20 November, after receiving reports from people that she had jumped from the bridge. Relatives of the victim arrived at the location the next morning, waiting for the authorities to finish examining the body and recording the incident, before handing it over to them for the funeral.

Body of Nham24 Delivery Man Found Drowned
Cambodia News Phnom Penh: The 911 Special Forces initiated a search operation for the body of a youth who had jumped from the Chroy Changvar Bridge, located in Sangkat Chroy Changvar, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh.

The body of the victim; identified as Sok Visal, an online food delivery driver, was discovered by locals at 7:25 am on 29/09/2023. The local authorities were informed, and a thorough investigation was conducted at the scene of the incident.
The evidence left at the scene included a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle with a Nyam 24 delivery box, and a pair of shoes. The authorities have temporarily stored all the evidence at the Chroy Changvar administrative checkpoint while getting in touch with the victim's relatives. RIP.
