Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On the night of February 12, 2021, at 11:32pm, on the new Chroy Changvar Bridge, Sangkat Chroy Changvar, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh, a woman tried to commit suicide by jumping into the river.
Fortunately, she was prevented from harming herself and pursuaded to return home.

According to sources from the victim's friends, the cause of the suicide attempt was stress from the victim's family and work problems.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A young woman decided to jump to her death from the Chroy Changva bridge, because she was desperate after she lost about 20,000 dollars, and her husband did not recognize her child, but fortunately she was rescued in time.This incident occurred at more than 12 midnight on February 17, 2021 at Chroy Changva Bridge, Sangkat Chroy Changva, Khan Chroy Changva.

According to the police, this woman named C*** R****, 28 years old, living in a rented house in Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh, is 2 months pregnant and her husband will not accept the baby, and she also confessed to him that she lost US$ 20,000 by gambling, and her husband was angry and told her to leave his house.
So the woman felt abandoned by her husband and family, because she did not dare to return to her relatives, and decided to end her life like this.
Authorities took her to the Victory Police Station and called the victim's family to take her home.

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: A man suspected of having a serious mental crisis jumped from the Chroy Changvar bridge in a suicide attempt, but fortunately he was saved, at 1:40 pm on February 27, 2021 on Chroy Changvar Bridge (Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge) in Doeum Kor Village, Sangkat Chroy Changvar, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh.

According to sources at the scene, before the incident, the man took about 40 sleeping pills, then went to the bridge, and left his shoes there before he jumped .

But immediately after jumping into the river, the victim swam in the water and the fishermen nearby took their boat to help lift the man out and then handed him over to the authorities who called an ambulance to take him to Calmette Hospital.

According to the information from the victim, she is 23 years old, living around Sansom Kosal Pagoda, Sansom Kosal Village, Sangkat Boeung Tumpun 1, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh. She has a boyfriend named Pisey, 25 years old, who works as a car mechanic.

The same source continued that she and her boyfriend have been in love for 3 years, have not been married, but live together as a couple, and then recently her boyfriend asked her to part ways, arguing that his family does not like her. But in fact, her boyfriend secretly had an affair with another woman, and she was upset and decided to jump in a tuktuk to commit suicide on the Chroy Changva bridge, leaving behind a pair of sneakers and a backpack on the Chroy Changva bridge as evidence.

The source added that in this case, when she jumped into the water, she lost consciousness, and when she regained consciousness, she was on the bank of the river near the people's house. She did not know who was helping her, but an unidentified man was said to be helping her.

After the incident, the victim's family and mother arrived at the scene to comfort her and call her back home.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 10:20 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2021, there was a case of a beautiful woman with a mental crisis, who attempted to end her life on the Chroy Changvar Bridge, causing surprise to the authorities, who rushed to interrogate and detain the woman at the base of the Chroy Changvar Bridge on the east bank in Srah Chak commune, Daun Penh district.
The 25-year-old beautician was crying, and said that she was sad and upset because she had problems with her husband who was mean and jealous.

The authorities contacted her husband, who came to fetch his wife, and police educated the couple before sending them both home.

And they lived happly ever after.

Exceedingly rare to find a "beautiful woman" without a "mean and jealous" (add controlling) husband/boyfriend close by.. This holds true generally but is even more applicable in Cambodia/Southeast Asia, a kingdom of small, insecure men.

The authorities contacted the husband, who came to fetch his wife..sending them both home.

Very astute police-work this. Contact the person at the root of her desperation, bring him over, cause him to lose face by "educating" him, then send both on their way so he can get her alone & do some "educating" of his own.

Young Woman Cries Her Mother's Death

Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of May 2, 2021 at the Chroy Changvar/Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge in Srah Chak commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh, an 18-year-old woman factory worker was heartbroken by the death of her mother and decided to jump to her death from the bridge.

Thankfully, she was not able to do so, due to the authorities' timely intervention. The young woman, a native of Preah Vihear province, is currently working as a factory worker in Bek Chan, Phnom Penh, but when her mother died, she could not even go to the funeral ceremony to say goodbye because it is impossible for her to go to Preah Vihear because of the lockdown in Phnom Penh.

The woman was so sad about her mother's death that she decided to jump from the Chroy Changvar bridge, but the authorities came to help prevent the fatal act.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): The body of a man, who jumped over the Chroy Changvar bridge 4 days ago, was found by a fisherman, floating in the river today at around 11:30 am, on July 22, 2021.

On July 18, 2021,the deceased stopped on the bridge with his motorbike and jumped over this bridge and disappeared into the water, leaving his shoes behind.
The family has identified him as Ngun Kakada, 29 years old, staying at Anlong commune, Trang district, Takeo province.RIP.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 1:20 pm on August 12, 2021, at Chroy Chongva Bridge in Phnom Penh, a young woman with a family crisis attempted to put an end to her days by jumping off the bridge.

Fortunately, an officer was present at the scene and managed to persuade the young lady not to jump. He then contacted her relatives to come and take her home safely.
