Chinese Workers Allegedly Gold Mining Illegally in Preah Vihear
Preah Vihear, Cambodia News: At Prey Teng village in Preah Vihear province, the villagers claim that Chinese workers are illegally digging for gold, long after their permits expired on 31 July 2019. The permits were not renewed because the mining is taking place in a protected forest area.
Local people say that when the authorities came to inspect the mining sites, all activity was suspended, but as soon as the officials left, the mining resumed with both Chinese and Khmer workers. The company is reportedly Chinese owned.
Local authorities have said that they are unaware of any illegal gold mining in the area, but that if there is any sort of illegal activity going on, they will crack down immediately and arrest the perpetrators.

Those ^^ are not swimming pools
"The cyanide solution percolates, dissolves the gold and carries it to solution ponds. This technique requires the use of large quantities of highly toxiccyanide. The cyanide solution is either reused, stored in a dam ordirectly discharged into rivers or the sea."

I wonder which method they are using ? If I was running an illegal gold miner, would I recycle the cyanide, or would I just dump it ?SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 1:46 pm The cyanide solution is either reused, stored in a dam or directly discharged into rivers or the sea."

To answer that question we would have to know if you are Chinese.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

The local method is to discharge into the river. Then when people downstream start getting sick and dying, blame it on a bad batch of homemade rice wine.Duncan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 4:23 pmAnchor Moy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:03 pmI wonder which method they are using ? Re: Chinese Workers Allegedly Gold Mining Illegally in Preah Vihear
Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province: Local people are alleging that there is connivance between the illegal miners and the local authorities who have been turning a blind eye to all the illegal mining activities.
Yu Chenda Yuth, director of the Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Mines, said that some of these sites have permits, and some have been closed. He said that if he wanted to crack down, he would have to ask the governor for advice because his institution is merely a provincial one. Mr. Hor Bunhu, the Governor of Rovieng district, could not be reached for comment.
