Chinese Man Drives into a Lake, Phones, Walks Off

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: On July 31 at 11 pm, a Chinese man drove his Starex car,plate no. PP2AV-1210, into the lake in Village 1, Sihanoukville.

The local people said the car was going really fast, and it is possible the driver was drunk, when it smashed into the bridge and went right through the railings and landed in the lake.
The driver managed to get out of the car before it became submerged in the water. After that, the driver talked on the phone and left the scene of the accident.
His car has been impounded by police.

What was he expected to do? Hang around, wait for the police or local vigilantes to arrive and explain his actions?

No name stated, no passport shot? No statement of where he’s living, and what he is doing for a living? Sure this is Cambodia?

They only get angry with you if you run them over or crush/squash something of theirs. Driving into a lake is a benign activity.
