Chinese Driver Tries to Run and Removes his Shirt

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Chinese Driver Tries to Run and Removes his Shirt

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Some events in Cambodia will always remain a mystery. This is probably one of them.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On March 23, 2021, a Chinese man drove a Lexus car and hit a motorbike, before he attempted to flee, on March 23, 2021, at 1:20 am, on street 1936/1003, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmie, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

A motorcyclist on a Honda Dream motorbike plate PP1CL-1472 was driving on street 1936 from west to east, when a Chinese man in a Lexus RX300 plate PP20-2858, drove up on street 1003 from north to south and hit the victim's motorbike, causing some damage.

When he saw what he had done, the Chinese man started to drive off from the accident scene, but then, he stopped his car 20 meters away and ran into the bush. A while later, the Chinese man came back without a shirt on. He was detained by the local people.

The police went to the scene and took both vehicles to keep at the police station, waiting to sort the problem out later.

Good way to reduce aerodynamic drag. Should have shed off everything else for maximum take off speed.

There still is, I don't think there's a street 1936 either. 8)

Fair enough. That's how it was reported - it's a street that has an intersection with 1003.
Does it really matter if an arsehole was driving on such and such street ? A Lexus driver hit a Honda motorbike and tried to escape. That is the story, whether that occured on whatever street doesn't change what happened.

Is it a big problem asking where a street I've never heard of is?
