127 Chinese Detained for Online Scamming Via VoIP System
Cambodia Breaking News (Sihanoukville): On August 14, 2019, 127 Chinese nationals, including 10 women, were arrested for online scamming through VOIP system in two places in Sihanoukville, located in Districts 2 and 4.
The raid was led by Lieutenant Ei Sokkhim, director of the Department of Counter-Terrorism Transnational Crime, and Lieutenant Seing Sen, director of the Department of Commercial Crime, in collaboration with Sihanoukville police and Chinese police, and coordinated by the representative prosecutor.
[CEO News: The noted presence of Chinese police in this case makes it highly likely that these arrests were ordered in China.]
