Chinese Couple Carjack Taxi at Knifepoint in Takeo
Cambodia Breaking News (Takeo): On the evening of May 07, 2019,Trang kok police stopped a Lexus RX300 car plate PP2P-8959 and a Chinese couple was arrested for stealing the vehicle.
The suspects, identified as Chinese nationals Jang Jinsin, a 33-year-old man and Saev Jin, a 34-year-old woman, hired a car with driver Mr Khim Piseth,34, at Chaom Chau, Phnom Penh, to go to Kampot. However, when they arrived in Takeo, the Chinese man pulled a knife on the driver, and after a scuffle,forced him out of the car. The man immediately went to the police, who then launched a search for the stolen vehicle.
The two carjackers were stopped and apprehended at 7:30pm on the National Road 3 to Kampot. Police confiscated a knife, two ID cards, bank cards,US$320 and a phone. The case of the suspects is being prepared following the legal procedure.

Statistics indicate that Chinese nationals stand at first place in the number of offences, surpassing Vietnamese, Thai, South Korean and US nationals, said a Ministry of Interior report released on Tuesday.

One thing about Cambodia is there’s always a cop around (in the daytime) and most of them are plain clothes.
One radio call and you’ve got 2000 cops looking out for some dodgy peeps.

Per capita they’re not actually that bad.
They do outnumber all other nationalities.

Major difference being that westerners are very very rarely involved in kidnapping, extortion, gang fights, shootings types of crimes in KOW.
