Chinese Couple in Bentley Flying Spur Crash on Riverside

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I guess if you're unlucky enough to be smashed into by someone, better that someone drives a Bentley.

I feel like Chinese shouldn't be allowed to own expensive cars in Cambodia.

I actually feel like the Chinese shouldn’t be allowed to drive in Cambodia.
As screwed up as driving is, they stand out.

Maybe because there are a lot more of them here than any other nationality?

They can and sometimes do

But in general if there's no loss of life or injury and you can pay then there's no need for all that nonsense

And that is after (grey) import to Cambodia. A quick peek on a European car trading website such as autoscout24.de will show you a Flying Spur can be owned starting around EUR 30,000 - although model year of this crashed one is not easily identified. Usually used high-end cars are relatively cheap to purchase, car enthusiast websites often do comparisons that you can buy for example a second-hand Aston Martin for the price of a new VW. Running-costs and maintenance for an old used Bentley will be as high as for a new version though, so anyone who can afford that can also afford to purchase new. For such Bentleys the used W12 models are even at the lower end, because of higher costs compared to V8.

There’s also a lot of Americans but do we ever hear about them randomly crashing?

Lots of people from all over the world. I don't see how that is relevant to my point.
