Chinese Businesses Bulldozed for Non-Compliance, Sihanoukville
Cambodia Breaking News (Sihanoukville): On July 31, 2019, at 3:20 pm, Mr. Kouch Chamroeun, the Sihanoukville governor, ordered the police force to clean up the Chinese buildings illegally constructed on the public road and to dismantle the business signs which were erected without permission.
The business owners had ignored previous warnings by the Sihanoukville authorities.

Sihanoukville is the only place in the world that looks better after a bulldozer has been through it.

I'm surprised the Chinese let them do that
Don't the Sihanoukville authorities realise who's in charge now ?

The Chinese are comfortable as long as they pay money.

In a way, they should be grateful. It delays the inevitable day when the mob gathers.
There have been many pogroms in the region against innocent Chinese immigrants.
This particular recent wave of chancers have been very overbearing. I have been told by several SV locals that many PRC owned small businesses are struggling in sihanoukville.
Supposedly quite a few have left to try their luck in PP.

If an area gets over saturated with many identical noodle bars, the Chinese proverb maybe lets move on before our tax is due.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 2:31 am In a way, they should be grateful. It delays the inevitable day when the mob gathers.

Always "hope" but never "expect".
