Casino Raid Releases Hostages; 14 Arrests in Sihanoukville

Cambodia News, (Preah Sihanouk Province): The Joint Task Force of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administrative Unity Command, involving both police and gendarme forces, has cracked down on Chinese nationals in a case of kidnapping and extortion, and illegal use of weapons, in a raid on a Chinese casino.

14 Chinese suspects were detained, including a woman, two Chinese hostages were rescued, and the forces confiscated 7 firearms (five pistols and two rifles), some bullets and armor, as well as other related materials.

The operation took place at around 7 pm on September 10, 2021 at the Xihao Yinghui hotel-Casino in village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville; a 9-storey building near the beach, containing online gaming rooms.

Currently, the suspects and exhibits are brought to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command to continue the legal process.

Cambodia News, Preah Sihanouk Province: Following a report of gunshots being fired, police in Preah Sihanouk Province launched a siege campaign at 6.30 pm on September 10, 2021 at Xihao Yinghui Hotel Casino, in group 13, village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville / Preah Sihanouk province. They arrested 14 people with 7 firearms.

It's a little sketchy with a lack of information, such as who fired the guns. But here we see a good collection of arms, and two riffles for longer distance shots. It’s only a mater of time when they don’t want to be arrested and will fight for their freedom.

Disappointed that only 2 victims were rescued, where the report on another thread of up to 5000 were recruited. Any day of delay of further crackdown will lead to more young Chinese lives lost. But this is a good starter.

Police launch crackdown on China Project with casino raid resulting in 15 arrested and two extortion victims freed

Preah Sihanoukville police reported that criminals fired up to six shots at police as they fled into a nine-story building located near the beach.

The crackdown was believed to have executed under pressure from Phnom Penh.

FFS, why only when under pressure? Can't they just do the right thing for fucking once, BEFORE there's any political pressure and media coverage?

WTF, are people supposed to be happy that they arrested a dozen+, when there's another 8,000 still being illegally held, having had their passports taken away from them, tortured, raped and/or malnourished, held in cramped rooms, especially when these 8,000 are forced to do illegal online activities?

Someone needs to take those guns and ammo and eradicate the problem.

The cops are Cambodian cops, not western cops. They are not an independent branch that enforces the law. They are part of the larger system of Cambodia. Knowing their place in the system and knowing what they can and cannot do at a particular place and time.

The China Project is obviously protected at multiple levels. Any cop who goes in on his own is obviously asking for the end of his career or worse.

Only when a higher power than those protecting the China Project backs them up can they go in. Possibly higher up then those publicly pressuring them is needed.

Right now mainland China is their best friend. So figuring out exactly who pulls the levers on the friendship is hazy and difficult.

Their happiness doesn’t matter.

Of course it’s possible that Chinese cops and Chinese state security simply take over Chinaville instead of the local boys in blue.

This transnational crime operation spans many countries. It is quite harmful to the interests of China and they have devoted a lot of resources regionally to clean it up.
I think they are allowing them to run in order to gain actionable intelligence on them.
