Carnage on Monivong: accident causes 3 dead and 6 injured

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I have only been in Cambodia for 9 year and whilst I travel a fair bit, I cannot claim to have seen "hundreds" of crashes.

Well, I haven't seen hundreds take place, but I certainly have come upon the aftermath of hundreds.

I drive around 6000km per month, mind you, and almost daily will see an accident that has taken place. Generally minor, sometimes ghastly.

He won't be much longer.
From being on life support to a inmate in less than a week. Is it the resilience of the Cambodian people or the quality of the Cambodian doctors treatment that can do that.
Yeah that's a hell of a recovery.

Is it cause they know that justice will NOT be given?

May we consider a more primal genetic predisposition to resort to violence into the extreme in some % of any population of any culture on any given day? Cognizant of the fact that they will not be punished.

Just putin it out there.

Hundreds! Really? Hundreds?
figure of speech obviously

I'm glad. For a moment I thought you were quoting alternative facts or you were speaking globally.

You too huh? Hundreds as in more than two hundred or more. Yeah, sure, who wouldn't belive you?

WOW! I had to do some minor math there & convert to miles which equals appx. 45,000 miles in a year. IN CAMBODIA??? How is that possible?

How many hours behind the wheel per day? What do you estmate your avg. speed at?
What Buddha amulets do you wear? Tatoos?

I actually managed to drive 900 miles in one year here in Cambodia. Makes me tired thinking about it.

124 miles a day on average that works out lol

900 miles a year isnt much, i did a few thousand km in a few months last year, i did drive to Takeo and kampot and stuff though, 6000km a month is a lot though

Yeah, I go between my workplace and my house two to three times daily, which is eleven miles each way. Then use it all day to drive around sites. Plus most days there's a trip to the provincial capital (80 mile round trip), and weekly (sometimes more frequent) trips to PP.

Probably around three hours per day in the Tacoma, at least.
