Way, way, back in 1978, I was visiting the then US Naval Base at Subic Bay, PI.
To exit the naval base to visit the small brothel/ go-go bar town of Olongapo, you had to walk across a bridge with a filthy black, rubbish ridden river. [Nowhere near as bad at the Tonle Somram in the video above].
I remember, I bought a t-shirt which read:
"Olongapo
Home of the Scenic Shit River."

Let's not worry about it today, it's holiday time and Cintri will be bringing in extra workers after the holidays to clean it all up.

I am totally spaced out with how clean the streets are right now. Should be New Year more often.
