Canadian Francis Graham Arrested in Sihanoukville, NO VISA

Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Cambodia: A 52 year old Canadian national, Francis Michael Graham, has been arrested in Sihanoukville because he didn't have a valid visa.

Police say he was arrested because he possessed no valid basis and for "causing chaos on the coastal territory," a title more often held by Russians.

Ville: Police Immigration Office of the Police Sihanouk province on the morning of May 5, 2015, has continued to arrest Canadian man living on the territory of Preah Sihanouk without a visa.

Sihanoukville authorities continue to arrest all foreigner who are currently living illegally in Cambodia

Sihanoukville: On 5 May 2015, the police of immigration department in Sihanoukville arrested a Canadian guy for illegally living in Cambodia without visa.

The officer of immigration department in Sihanoukville confirmed that the old Canadian guy entered Cambodia via Koh Kong border and had lived in Sihanoukville without Visa (He has passport).

The police said, after the arrest, he was sent to the immigration department for preparing deportation order to deport him out of Cambodia back to his home country.

The General Choun Narien stressed that recently more than 20 foreigners had been arrested for overstaying and illegally staying in Sihanoukville. He continued, “ among those foreigners, most of them were Russians. He then promised that he will arrest all the foreigners who are living illegally and causing troubles in Sihanoukville

I was told that after a very positive experience, the Cambodian gouvernement is negotiating bilateral agreements to resettle all destitute westerners to Saudi Arabia.

It's fair enough. Given that a visa here is next to nothing to obtain and zero hassle to obtain - there's no real excuse for not having one. I get it in places where visas are huge expense... but less than $300 a year? It's the only tax most foreigners will ever pay. It's not unreasonable to pay it.

Looks like he's been in the region a bit as his passport was issued in Bangkok middle of last year.
