Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. PRACHIN BURI:
A poor Cambodian woman’s bid to take her children to Bangkok to join the family’s breadwinner came to naught when they were spotted walking along a road in Krabin Buri early on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old woman and her three children - two girls and a boy - were walking past a petrol station on Suwannasorn Road in Ban Sradoo village when police found them, after being alerted to their presence around 1.30am, said Pol Capt Jaturon Sa-nguanprasit, deputy chief of Krabin Buri police station.

They were taken to the police station for questioning.

The woman, identified as Tuenles, told police she was taking her children, aged 12, 9, and 8 years, to meet their father, who had work as a garland seller in Bangkok. She also planned to look for a job herself to help feed her family.

She had only a little money when she set out on the journey after crossing the border, enough for bus tickets from Sa Kaeo to Kabin Buri district.

There was a Fb post this past week. A man had come to collect his son's body up from the hospital to take him home for the funeral. The man was dirt poor and was walking at the side of the road with his son in a cart. The police stopped him and arranged suitable transport and cash for the funeral. It's not just life that is hard here

I have met girls who have gone to Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville (in the past), and other places, looking for work. Many of them dont know they need their ID card to get a job, and dont bring it. They have no money, and many dont find a job, so they sleep outside. I have bought meals for some of them, and given some money to go back home. Some have turned to prostitution, but many dont.

Their family in the village has no money. They're doing this to find work and earn money. So they head to the city with no money.
## I thought I knew all the answers, but they changed all the questions. ##
