Cambodian PM vows dual nationality ban for politicians

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Wow, how original.

Any quotes from non-Hollywood movies? (not that I'm requesting any material not deemed by mass media to be suitable for mass-consumption, you understand, I just stupidly thought that the other 5.5 billion people on the planet may have something of value to say, forgive me.)

But it was short and non-verbose, and summed things up nicely, on a couple of levels.

Rainsy.

Ah, hypocrisy. They both fought vigorously against the KR at one point and gave limited support to the out-of-power DK at another, so there is at least some hypocrisy, depending on which point in history you want to compare it to, though they didn't have much good to say of the KR even at the time they were 'supporting' them.
Jesus, limited support? That's an understatement if ever there was one. Not only did they support one of the KR leaders to the UN seat, but they also supported the white-washing of the DK KR, saying that they were responsible for the atrocities and that the PDK KR, whom they were supporting, was a different animal altogether.

At the time of these statements they actively knew that the PDK were carrying out the same shit as the DK did. In fact, I believe that they were active via SF's, in training and supplying the PDK as the PDK were the largest active force (by a long way) against the PRK. When it came up in congress though, the British SAS mainly took over . Until it came up in parliament. Then they were "supported" by private security teams made up of ex-SAS.

The US not recognizing the PRK as the true leaders of Cambodia held the country back for years and years. Not even any aid from the west except for the odd organization that wouldn't agree like Oxfam.

All these things added on top of the woes of the ordinary Cambodian who,if they were lucky, were now living under the PRK in one of their liberated zones. If not then they were in the same situation as before the Viets invaded; under KR control. This situation became worse as the PDK became stronger through US/ Chinese support, amongst others.

Anything to stop those damn commies! And I do mean anything. (unless they were Chinese)

BTW they originally fought against Sihanouk and his Sihanoukists, who became the military branch of FUNCIPEC. He was a person they had been trying to assassinate for years and who they had just recently overthrown in a coup. The KR were almost non existent as a force untill Sihanouk decided to go to bed with them so he could remain the most powerful. I blame the cunt who told him he was a god-king repeatedly when he was growing up.

One of the dirtiest little secrets in modern western history.Hell, most of it isn't even a secret! And the US embassy should learn to keep its mouth shut on the symbolic day that their government swapped their allegiance to "one of the most unambiguously evil regimes in history".

How do you figure? I thought they issued a statement calling the KR unambiguous evil and calling Jan 7 a victory for all Cambodians.
