Six Men Arrested in Phnom Penh During Three Police Drug Raids; Multiple Drugs Seized

Cambodia News,(Phnom Penh): On April 29, 2020, six suspected drug traffickers and their drugs were seized by the National Police's Anti-Narcotics Division and sent to court. This is according to a statement by a senior police officer at the anti-drug department.

On April 26, 2020, Special Expert Office (A1) of the Anti-Narcotics Division headed by Lt. Gen. In Song, Deputy Director of the Anti-Narcotics Division, with the assistance of Deputy Prosecutor Lay Sophal, and the Clerk of the Prosecution of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court of Inquiry, investigated and launched a crackdown on trafficking cases of Illegal Use of Drugs at three different locations.

1: Chea Hour Male Born in 1986 Khmer Occupation
2: Ieng Raksmey, male, born 1968, Khmer Occupation
3: Som Rasmey Arun, male, born 1989, Khmer Occupation
4: Tampai Boy, Born Born in 1991, (User)
5: San Lee Song Hour Male Born in 1993, Khmer Occupation, User (User)
6: Ratan, Male Born in 1996, Khmer Occupation, Musician (User)

* Evidence seized : 397.51 grams of drugs in total
1. Methamphetamine (ICE) 23.74 grams
2: MDMA (29.50g)
3. Ketamine 183.17 grams
4. Nimetazapam 6.30 grams
5. Marijuana 154.80 grams
6: Uncertain 346.29 grams
7: One Scale Scale
8: Two motors
9: 3 phones
10: 1 set of drug processing devices,
11: Packaging for some of the drugs,
12. Some drug paraphernalia.

The suspects and exhibits were sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.

Cambodia News, Battambang: Sampov Loun district police arrested 3 suspects with five bags of ice (methamphetamine) and also 378 tablets and some other items.

The arrest of the three suspects was made at 16:35 pm on April 30, 2020, in a raid at Po Chrey Village, Serey Meanchey Commune, Sampov Loun District, Battambang Province. The three have been sent to Battambang Provincial Anti-Narcotics Office to be processed according to procedure.

Why don't they just legalize it. What a waste to fill up the prisons with druggies and keep the police busy with that nonsense.

Cambodia News (Battambang): On April 30, 2020, at 2:38 pm, the anti-drug squad from the Kamrieng police station raided and arrested a 36-year-old woman, Ren Den, for drug trafficking in Dong village, Kamrieng district, Battambang.

The police confiscated 14 WY pills and three packs of white powder for 22,71 grams, money 300,000 riels, a motorbike, and two phones. The suspects' case was prepared for submitting to the provincial police station.

Grandma's Drug Ring Busted in Battambang

Cambodia News (Battambang): On May 2, 2020, Prey Kapos police busted some drug traffickers and arrested a grandma and three men, in Bovel district, Battambang.
The suspects were identified as Chum Seth, a 31-year-old man, Ren Oeun, a 70-year-old woman, Touch San, a 20-year-old man, and Thea Chantha, a 22-year-old man.

The police confiscated 29 small packs of ICE for sale, weighing a total of 4,94 grams and some drug equipment. The suspects with the evidence were sent to the Battambang district police station for case preparation following the legal procedure.

A lot of drugs and weapons are being picked up in areas near the Thai border with Cambodia lately, which might indicate that the border shutdown between the two countries needs further supervision.

Cambodia News (Battambang): On May 6, 2020, at 8:10 pm, a 43-year-old man, Bun Sarenkakada, was arrested for drug trafficking and using a weapon illegally, in Wat Leap village, Sangkat Chamkar Somrong, Battambang.

The police confiscated a bag of methamphetamine (ICE) weighing 100,18 grams, a pistol, a phone, a notebook, and other drug equipment. The accused man was questioned for case preparation before he appears before Battambang court.

Laos Man Arrested with 2 grams

Cambodia News (Ratanakiri): On May 14, 2020, at 4:45 pm, the local police collaborated with the anti-drug department to arrest a 22-year-old Laotian man, Pad Boren, at Oudai Khaew, Kon Kromom district, Ratanakiri.

The police confiscated a pack of methamphetamine weighing 2.05 grams in the suspect's possession. His case will appear before Banlung court.
