Cambodian Govt to Propose Law Against Inappropriate Dress
Re: Cambodian Govt to Propose Law Against Inappropriate Dress
Huzzah, I say.
As long as they ban the use of safety-shorts as well.
It's false advertising, these Khmer chicks waltzing around Aeon in impossibly short skirts, only to find there's a pair of Daisy Dukes underneath.

Oh dear, now the old caveman comparison... The "savages" in the jungle with no electricity, and no clothes, eh? I rest my case.thold wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 11:32 am Have you ever seen Cavemen costumes? "Adam and Eve" were completely naked as well
I bet that in the near future it will be the advocates of Western decadence that will be understood as ultra-conservative boomers.
btw. you are wrong, i'm not a conservative... rather, a leftist progressive.

Just a dirty old man thinking he can get a peak for free
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Nah, I normally just yell at the 60/70 year olds with their gross old bods along riverside with no shirts on. Nobody needs to see that shit.Tarndog wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:39 am Men who think other men should wear shirts have obviously neglected their own bodies and don't want to be reminded of it by seeing guys that don't, so they are supporting levelling the playing field when even making a law against wearing shirts won't make things even.

Thank god the almighty "Royal" Government of Cambodia is proposing a much needed law on inappropriate dress!!! Tourism (which was suffering prior to the pandemic), manufacturing and agriculture (oh hey, these two sectors were also suffering before the pandemic!), 3 out of 4 pillars of the lousy Cambodian economy, are in disarray... but yes, let's focus on what really matters. Shirts and skirts.... Clowns. Those people are clowns.

You can't legislate, because it gets down to personal interpretation. How short is too short? How so you measure it?

From OP post
As to how you measure it.....well...But Ouk Kimlekh, an interior ministry secretary of state leading the drafting process, said the legislation was needed to preserve traditional culture.
"It's good to wear something no shorter than the middle of the thighs," he told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Thousands of girls wear shorts, which are shorter than that. Are they going to make it illegal for girls to wear shorts?clutchcargo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 2:51 pmFrom OP postAs to how you measure it.....well...But Ouk Kimlekh, an interior ministry secretary of state leading the drafting process, said the legislation was needed to preserve traditional culture.

They have not thought this through.
