True. Same here.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:44 pm I find I spend too much because I am not being as cautious or selective with my money. Seems like every individual thing is cheaper, but then I am more of a consumer; a lot more than what I am back in the west.
Some of my western food outings for dinner for two come in as more than at 'home'.
I think I need to start worryung more about my 100r notes.
Quite a few posts out there "coming to Cambodia with x amount of money, can i survive?". Just come over, spend some time and decide afterwards. You might be spending not much or blow all your budget. Who cares?
Changing all of your money in 100Riel notes will make life much easier, believe me.

Can I add, whilst on the subject of spending money, all future sheeple to read the second law of Gossen; the law of equimarginal utility.
Just to put things in perspective.
In Dutch it is called "grensnutnivellering".

Also, Beer Economics is a real thing when done properly and not done by some guy sitting in a gogo bar at 1 am. I can get Tiger draft in PP for....$1...a pint! Any time of day, wow!!Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:53 ameven thats not true anymore, was drinking pints of Tiger in a walking street agogo (Atlantis) tonight for less than $3... a pint!phuketrichard wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:44 pmthe only things i find cheaper in Cambodia over Thailand is Drinking alcohol,( beer, spirits, wine), smoking cigs, some western food items in the supermarkets and some Barang food in cheaper restaurantswhiteribbon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:33 pm OK the only thing that's expensive is electric bills and car ownership. All the rest is cheaper in my experience. Prove me wrong?
Edit: just read the article again... a bottle of sparkling wine for $25?! You can have a bottle of great Prosecco for $12 in every market in Cambodia, so their figures are probably greatly (bigly) inflated.
everything else is more
i rarely pay more than $2-3 for a bottle of San Miguel light ($3.50-4 in PP) anywhere here

doesnt matter which way you look at it, Cambodia isnt as cheap as it used to be, especially on a night out now
Domestic draft in Pattaya is 50 Baht/$1.60, had a few last night, not much different to the average $1.50 in PP
Yup, post a stupid meme instead of addressing what I said. GJ
