Cambodia - Reduced Quarantine on Arrival

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

How safe are these notifications? I guess the travel agencies will take some days to update. Now i can only see this in CEO.
First hand reports from travellers who arrived today stated that officials were still requiring Foreigners to have the Forte Insurance policy, but there has been no official clarification yet.

The MoH Announcement is as official as it gets, but these changes often take days to actually filter down to where it is needed the most, airlines check-in staff.
Ministry of Tourism spokesman Top Sopheak told Khmer Times yesterday that all the requirements in the former of procedures of Vaccination Tourism are no longer valid for both vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists, including the Health Insurance policy.

“The requirement now is just PCR test results 72 hours before boarding a flight to show that the passenger is negative for Covid-19, a rapid antigen test at the airport upon arrival, and no quarantine for those who are vaccinated,” he added.

As for the unvaccinated, he said, all are the same except that they need to be quarantined for 14 days and will be released only when the final tests show negative for Covid-19.

He said tourists need not show their Covid-19 vaccination card or status when entering or exiting restaurants, malls, and other places.

Sopheak said their main aim is to revive the economic sector and bring back everything to normalcy and for that they need to develop and improve the internal tourism sector.

Anyone arriving in the next few days at least might want to take heed of @PSD-Kiwi observations.

Anyone coming in the next few days ought to be ready to buy a policy, despite it's apparent redundancy. You may not get on the plane, let alone passed Cambodian immigration.

The next week or so will see all these issues ironed out. If I was abroad and desperate to come here, I would still wait a week, but not much more. There is going to be a lot of inbound passengers soon and not many flights yet.

Edit:
It's worth re-mentioning that before booking any flight here, make sure it is actually flying here. Don't trust SkyScanner or agencies. Even the airlines can't be trusted too much, they have been taking money and cancelling for a long time.

Check what is actually coming and going from PP here.

Speaking of buying flights, folks should also keep in mind

A - Singapore requires transit passengers to have a PCR test within 48 hours which is stricter than the 72 hours to enter Cambodia
B- Transit through Taiwan is currently banned

Applied for my e-visa yesterday afternoon, and this morning i received already, 13h later, no problems at all. As my thai visa runs out on 22th, i plan to come overthere next weekend. If the insurance-issue is claired, if not i will apply for my own-countrys-insurance. And preparing my bags !!
How is the tuktuk service from airport to the riverside, was 9$ IN 2019 if i remember good ??
Many hotels are still closed i hear ?? Probably give CASA hotel near Wat Phnom a try, was there in januari 2020 and liked it, good proce/quality in my eyes !!

Try OKAY Boutique hotel on street 19z. They just lost all their quarantine business so they might be up for a deal again.
