Cambodia's Quarantine and Lockdown Escapees (Regular Updates)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I hope this guy is in the poo (with the authorities )

Mr. Nuon Vy, the owner of the business, but he still made it possible for his staff to continue the massage business to clients by making appointments at other locations, using telephone and other social media, which is contrary to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

2 ID cards, but it doesn't actually specify who they belong to!

Among westerners, you see a broad cross section of behaviour and attitude, both out and about and online. I suspect that it's much the same with the Chinese, but with a larger proportion of the Chinese community who are taking advantage of the apparently more lax (Not liberal) nature of Cambodia to indulge in criminal and for behaviour. The rest of us are still marred by our own contingent, but they generally don't make the news quite so frequently or to the same extremes.

I've only had a limited time in China, so I can't really tell. But my encounters with the Chinese expats in various places show them to have a general contempt for everyone.

I agree with something that's been said here already - the Chinese people heading to Sihanoukville are not the best and brightest. I have met some decent Chinese people in daily life in Sihanoukville who were very pleasant, but these are not the people who grace the CEO News pages.

But, you reap what you sew, and it was always kind of obvious (to me anyway) that turning Sihanoukville into a Chinese casino destination would attract the sort of people who hang out in casinos.
All over the world, casino hubs attract hoods, scams, organised crime, and dirty money. Why would Sihanoukville be any different ?

Missus just watched a video of a guy refusing to come in for testing and quarantine. The cops dressed up hazmat suits and metal riot shields, encircled him, and then ...
... threw the fishing net on him.
