Cambodia enlists tuk-tuk drivers in fight against trafficking

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Recently, Grab and Pass-App were both accused of making their drivers work for less money due to fare wars between the companies. The drivers say that some drivers are only earning half as much as they used to because of cut-price fares, and it's not enough to feed their families. There have been strikes and protest movements from the drivers.

Methinks they protest too much...

Everyone can see with their own eyes the drivers like a really good sleep on every available corner.

Not sure why pathetic PassApp and Grab drivers have been elevated to TukTuk Driver professional status.
They are a country mile apart.

One a slave - the other the world's most perfectly free man.
(that's why snowflakes use PassApp, they like dealing with slaves, and apps - 'can't handle dealing with a man who stands in his own power !!)

We are perfect for this job, 'know all about traffic
Phnom Penh traffic
traffic tickets
traffic bullies
traffic cheats
traffic victims
idiots in trafficked uniforms and trafficked powerful jobs
And with a clearly demonstrated lifelong commitment to non-slave philosophy and lifestyle.

And, we know just where to find the slaves
- PassApp drivers and their customers. 1st off the rank!

Am I the only one who thinks Grab not paying them enough might result in the drivers going into trafficking themselves?

It is all around....
People want things now..
Instead of saving up for them..
So the solution is to not extend credit to the poor and stupid?

And run the risk of being labeled a racist?
so. you'd rather help the poor destroy themselves by getting into debt than having to suffer the sin of being called a racist?

destroying themselves literally involves losing their homes, suicide, crimes us as drug-dealing and prostitution to raise funds to repay

but you'd let that happen rather than being called a racist by some uninformed person?

your priorities are a bit weird.
