Calmette ? Good God, I wouldn't let them take out stitches. Now the insurance companies won't fly anybody to BKK anymore. I think I'm going to buy a $500 helmet.

Dunno, but in my experience at Calmette the surgeons were trained and had worked in France, spoke English and French - and the emergency operation was a success. This was not brain surgery, but if this new wing is being supervised by a French neurosurgeon, then I imagine it will be ok as long as this continues.Drifter wrote:imagine being diagnosed a brain cancer at Calmette ... would you truste them ?
The problems we experienced came from the fact that most of the post-op staff didn't speak much English except "yes, yes" - and I was also concerned about hygiene - blocked toilets in the "VIP suite" and gecko shit everywhere in the room.
So, probably not really recommended for foreigners who have other choices, but definitely better than nothing for those who don't.

To be fair I went to Rattanak hospital with a knee injury and had to wait for the orthopedic surgeon because he was busy at calamette. So they can't all be bad.
