Buffalo gores monk to death

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I'll bet the monk wasn't wearing his amulet.

What do you get when you cross a buffalo with a pumpkin?

monks are humans not wizards from harry potter

Harry Potter is a figment of Rowling's imagination.

Monks and Buddha are not.

But a good monk is very good at avoiding day-to-day problems.

You have no kung fu. Pshaw!

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

Must've been a young or bad monk.

i have known some of these animals in java to take a violent dislike to europeans.
javans say it is because we eat a lot of beef the smell enrages the creatures who regard us as predators LOL.
malays have a story for everything.
cattle of any sort can be dangerous, especially if they do not know you, and you do not know how to behave around them.

i shooed one out of my yard yesterday, and a Kiwi board member who was visiting said
"oh you have been around cattle"

the yee haa lasso swinging version of human bovine interaction is completely false.

every culture has their gap logic theory to explain what they don't understand
today is Thursday or thorsday after the Nordic god seen as responsible for thunder for example

all this theory/belief stuff started when someone thought talking to a magic rock gave them much needed rain
ironic how far we have evolved as a species yet how the theories have too in an attempt to keep up

one only needs to watch desperately poor people give money to monks as they come door to door begging to see the cycle of hope v reality. 1 doctor does more than 1000 monks hence the monks aren't in hospitals healing the sick. no "holy" man ever is.

id rather have questions that cannot be answered than answers that cannot be questioned - cant remember who said this
attacking those who question stifles debate & holds humanity back meaning others suffer this monks fate too

as I said initially its a horrible way to die, for anyone & that's more important to acknowledge than what the animal tastes like
