British Man Found Dead In The Guest House Due to Fainting

Siem Reap: According to Kampuchea Thmey, A British man was found dead in his rented room in Banteay Chas village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap province.

Police said, the foreigner is a tourist and he was temporarily staying in that guest house and was found dead in the guesthouse.

He was found dead around 7:00 pm on 13 Jan 2016. According to police’s assumption, he might have died for two days already.

After the autopsy, doctor said that he died from fainting. Drug was found in his room.

I knew Phil. He was an ex coal miner from Yorkshire,turned pub landlord in Newcastle for some time.Despised Maggie Thatcher for obvious reasons. He wasnt into silly drugs for sure,just a routine smoke and beer. AFAIK he didnt have any ongoing health problems,so not sure what has happened,but RIP anyway. Condolences to his family.

A British man found dead in his room and wasn’t spotted until his body started to smell

Siem Reap: According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News, a British man found dead by the landlord and his neighbor in his rented room which he was staying alone. His dead body was not noticed until it started to smell. Police said he might have died from drug overdoes and asthma.

He was found dead around 17:30 pm on 13 January 2016 at his rented room located in Banteay Chas village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap province. Witnesses said the foreigner was living alone and because he was disappeared for long time so they broke the door into his room and saw him lying dead and later police was reported to come to check the body.

Police said the foreigner named Greenbacnk Philip, 54 years old. He entered Cambodia as tourist. Police added, the foreigner died from his illness and it wasn’t murdering.
The doctor specialized in autopsy said he can’t provide detail autopsy as there is no enough equipment. We can only do the autopsy by looking at the condition of the body.

According to autopsy, the foreigner died from asthma as there are some drugs against asthma were found in his room and also weed. The foreigner might have died about two days already. The body is now being kept at the provincial hospital of Siem Reap and will be transported to Phnom Penh tomorrow for the embassy sending his body back to his home country.
