Body of a Male Foreigner Found in Suitcase in Kep, Cambodia

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I saw he has the red string on his wrist. I think he stayed in Cambodia for long. Might has Khmer gf or wife.

Quite a headline:

Expatriates no longer safe as body of 'White' man found mutilated in a canal

Police in Cambodia are today trying to establish the identity of a white male found jammed into a suitcase which had been dumped into a canal.

This article makes me sick. I am not sure in the past 20 or 30 years ago, but in the recent year, there is no report about white tourists being kidnap or killed by local, beside, robbery, pickpocketing and snatching and traffic accidents, unlike in Philippine where some certain places, white people are warned not to go.

I've undertaken missions trips into places where I've had to sign hostage waivers... never considered it a risk here. Sensationalism, pure and simple.

I heard there is a place in Indonesia that has a lot of Christian and you can have pork and bacon there. What is the place called?

There have been a few, like the French guy and his 3 (?) kids who were murdered in Kampong Speu and the Dutch woman and her kid who were murdered in Phnom Penh. There was that Scandinavian (?) guy on 172 st not so long back. There was also the Canadian filmaker in Siem Reap and a few other mysterious deaths like Denis Jones and quite a few on Koh Rong.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Anything happen with the case of the French family after a French prosecutor (?) came to check things out ? That is the only case I can think of where the country of origin sent someone to investigate, but did it lead anywhere? I think they got the authorities here to rule out suicide, and then nada...
