Statically, you are more likely to be murdered by a member of your family than anybody else.prahkeitouj wrote:I will have a nightmare if I watch the pictures. Sometimes I wonder why foreigners like take a risk? Like to stay alone, with gf/ bf or friends more than families? Like to meet strangers ,but Cambodians doesn't.
Look at the average murder cases in Cambodia; very often it's a family member responsible.

Re: The Body of a Foreigner Found in a Suitcase
According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News: after having done autopsy, police confirmed that the victim is a white-skin foreigner, about 40 to 45 years old. He is 1.83 meter height. He was wearing a blue-colored short and dark blue-colored T-shirt. His left jaw was broken and he had knife-cut wound approximately 80 to 90 cm on his head.

I'm likely to believe that the cut on the guys head is 90mm not 90cm, if he has a head that is 90cm he would have a freakishy big head!! nearly 1 meter??? lol

I guess it is 90 mm too. Actually if you read local news, there are a lot of typos in their articles and they actually never bother to edit them. I have to agree with you that many foreigners are keen to take the risk comparing with Cambodian. They always want to experience new things. BTW, you shouldn't be afraid of meeting new people and strangers because of this. There are good and bad people all over the place, but it doesn't mean you will always meet bad people. I have met a lot of strangers and new people. I slept in a dorm room with a bunch of people i have never met before. I partied all day long with complete strangers. I moved all over the place and mingled with people from different countries. You might find it fun to talk to people and get to know more about them, their country, people and culture. It is all about learning and sharing.prahkeitouj wrote:I will have a nightmare if I watch the pictures. Sometimes I wonder why foreigners like take a risk? If i happen to go visiting phuket, i will definitely go to see Richard and see if he will kill me.

Re: The Body of a Foreigner Found in a Suitcase
Totally speculating here...
Seems he could have likely been killed in his sleep.
I'm basing that on the fact he appears to have earplugs in his ear(s).
I've known a few travelers who sleep with earplugs so that they don't hear the street noise, etc.
Why else would he have them in, and putting earplugs in a a guy post mortem seems a strange thing to do.

Khmer Times has an article on it now:
Dead Man Stuffed in Suitcase in Kep
...fficers said the man’s body had been stuffed into a suitcase, covered in sticky tape and then thrown into a mangrove forest. So far, there is no clue as to his identity.
“From the initial investigation, the murderer fatally struck the victim with a hard tool or a knife, because when we checked the body, we found that his forehead, skull and jaw were broken and fractured,” provincial police chief Brigadier-General Ing Sam Ol told Khmer Times...
