Update: A shovel was found next to the body. The handle of the shovel may contain useful ADN to identify the killer.

For the unsqueamish, there are uncensored photos, showing the shovel next to the body on the darknet thread.
For those who don't want to look at the photos, they show a man's calcinated body, face down on the riverbank, with hands cuffed behind his back and legs in a frog-like position. The shovel is directly in front of the body in plain sight; you can see the handle in the above photo.
Latest news on the preliminary investigation reveals that the man was hit on the head with the shovel before being doused with petrol and set alight.

Badly burned body in handcuffs found by riverbank in Battambang

Police in Battambang province yesterday retrieved the badly burned body of a man in handcuffs which was dumped along a riverbank in Ratanak Mondul district.

Colonel Sorn Nil, chief of district police, said the body was initially discovered by a villager who was walking along the riverbank under a bridge in Phlov Meas commune’s Phlov Meas village.

Col Nil said the villager informed commune police and word of the discovery was relayed to the chief of Battambang provincial police. An order was then given to district police to inspect the body.

“Our police officers arrived at the scene at about 7am yesterday,” Col Nil said. “We saw the body face down with his hands cuffed behind his torso.”
“The body was burned by gasoline,” he added. “The victim’s head showed many points of trauma.”

Col Nil noted police are treating it as a murder case after the initial investigation revealed that a suspect dumped the body near the bridge, which is located 18 kilometres away from Ratanak Mondul city.

“The victim was killed somewhere else. The suspect brought the body and dumped it along the riverbank,” Col Nil said, adding that a shovel was found near the body.

He said police are now working to identify the victim by asking local companies and factories in the district to help.

“The victim’s name has not yet been identified,” he said. “But, forensic police officers are 90 percent sure the victim was a Chinese national.”
