Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): According to the National Police General Commission, the body of a baby girl wrapped in a black garbage bag was found by a gardener, under a tree on the Cambodia-Thailand Friendship Park, corner of Street 61, Street 96, Village 1, Sangkat Wat Phnom, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
According to eye-witness Ly Van, male garden worker: On October 25, 2020, at 7:20am, he rode a motorbike from home to clean the garden as usual, then at 7:40 a.m., he found a black bag under a tree, and when he opened the bag he saw the body of a dead baby. He was very shocked and he contacted the authorities.
After receiving this information, the specialized forces arrived and managed the scene and reported to the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and cooperated with the Technical Office of Vipassana, the Office of Serious Crimes, the Child Protection Unit (CPU) and the doctors.

According to the post mortem examination, Dr. Nong Sovannaroth confirmed that the baby had been born prematurely and died as a result. After completing the technical examination, the body was handed over to the Wat Phnom Administrative Police Station for further processing.
