Quite depressing really. When I read "Biggest Nigerian Bust Yet", I thought for sure there would be at least one sister with a minimum double"D" cup size.

Nigerians arrested over passport violations
Forty-five Nigerian citizens, 17 of whom will be deported, were arrested on Saturday in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district by immigration police following a request from Nigerian visa officials, according to authorities.
The General Department of Immigration’s investigations head, Uk Hai Sela, said the arrests took place at a church in Por Sen Chey and that the individuals detained were on a list of 60 people Nigerian authorities requested be investigated for potential passport irregularities.
“We have investigated for a while and after reviewing the documents and questioning, 20 Nigerians have legal passports and their documents are correct.
They will be released on Monday,” Hai Sela said, adding that eight others will be fined for overstaying their visas and that the Ministry of Interior is preparing to deport the remaining 17.
In the first 10 months of 2015, more than 60 Nigerians were arrested according to illegal immigration census figures. A total of 3,961 individuals have been deported so far this year, 90 per cent of them Vietnamese.

Meanwhile I was in Cambodia with my visa expired for seven whole months once. I didn't get arrested I got a fine. I completely forgot about it AND the officer at the airport didn't care at all, he asked for my number in exchange for a $10 discount on my fine which is hilarious because I was on my way out of the country so what he hoped to do with my number I don't know. But I know that my passport coming from Australia is why I didn't get my ass kicked. Gross white privilege (and I'm not even white)
So silly when you say illegally. Sure their visas expired but that's it.. stop tainting a race by something so minor it is only receiving a lot of attention cos we know how Cambodians feel about blacks, the same way Australians feel about Muslims. No apologies cos it's true if anybody is about to have a cry

I remember that well. I was living on the street behind that church. When the cops came to raid the place, they freaked out this Vietnamese woman who was keeping lookout for a card game. She dived off the balcony and went through my kitchen roof, destroying my dinner and bleeding all over the place. Then the cops took her away.General Mackevili wrote: Fifty-seven people, many of them Nigerian, were arrested during a church service in Tuol Svay Prey I commune in Chamkar Mon district on Sunday on suspicion of illegally being in the country, according to a municipal police official.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Not sure what happened there. Maybe female privilege, maybe the cop was drunk, maybe it's bullshit, maybe she just hit the jackpot, but certainly not white privilege. I have never heard of a case before of a barang showing up at the airport with a wildly out-of-date visa and not catching major grief over it, often ending up in detention. Having a 7-month expired visa is always a big deal, ordinarily requiring payment of fines (or a negotiated fine) and getting an exit visa, perhaps even especially if you are white.General Mackevili wrote:Meanwhile I was in Cambodia with my visa expired for seven whole months once. Every Vietnamese in the group. It is race dependent, at least to a degree, but the Nigerians are not alone.vladimir wrote:https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/nige ... rch-99082/

I've had to pay $700+ for overstay previously. Not at the airport, at lucky lucky who then got me a one year extension no questions asked.
I had lost my passport in my house, but knew it was there somewhere so hadn't cancelled it.

https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/nige ... rch-99082/About 400 parishioners at the Christian Evangelical International Ministry in Phnom Penh were singing hymns when 15 armed police officers rushed through the doors on Saturday and rounded up all of the Nigerian men present...
Is it a legal requirement in Cambodia to have your passport/ID papers on you at all times ? I've never heard of foreigners here being stopped in the street and asked to produce ID/passport like they do in France for example.
"Rounding up all the Nigerian men present..." sounds ominous.Just wow. I don't always carry ID, but if I had a Nigerian passport, I would carry a copy of passport and visa on me at all times from now on.
And most of the men they detained were here legally. Well, sorry for the bother.

I've always heard that youre supposed to carry your passport/ID around with you at all times (or just a photocopy) (i dont carry either tbh)Anchor Moy wrote:https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/nige ... rch-99082/About 400 parishioners at the Christian Evangelical International Ministry in Phnom Penh were singing hymns when 15 armed police officers rushed through the doors on Saturday and rounded up all of the Nigerian men present...

thats why its illigal for guesthouses and what not to keep hold of your passport during your stay etc.. also stops them from doing the damaged property (cant have passport back till you pay) scam n shit..
ive always got my driving license on me in my wallet so its not something ive really noticed or come across really
i dont really know anyone that keeps their passport on their person at all times, its a risky/ridiculous "law" losing your passport is a stressful problem
