Big Domestic Tourist Numbers for KNY Replacement Holiday

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

It's hard to tell. For some likely indefinitely. Many smaller to medium-sized guesthouses own the land they're on, so by cutting staff numbers they can hold on for a very long time. Or temporarily shut and reopen.
cant agree;
ok,6-10 room gh's can run on minimal help and call in the sister, cousin for a busy weekend. BUT the 20-, 50, 200 room hotels /resorts in SR/SNV, PP cant do that.
Restaurants need order and keep stock, when ur only busy only weekends 1-2x/month... Well one thing is for sure, i would not be eating any seafood anywhere, right now :-)
...As a result, about one-third of Cambodia’s clothing factories have shut and much of the 90-percent female workforce has been sent home.
Plus i would venture 70% or more of those in the tourist industry are out of work.
so who are these domestic tourists?? How many times will they travel to kampot, KK, Kep?
one post had a graph with very few tourists visiting SR and as they dont pay to enter angkor wat anyway......NO income

goverment makes NO TAX revenue..

PS; not picking on Cambodia, same holds for tourism in all of SE asia. Thailand new cars sales are down, so soon they will start with lay offs
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
