Beautiful Woman in an MG Tries to Escape Police
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: At 4 pm on May 23, 2020, a Phnom Penh traffic police officer attempted to stop a modern car - an MG without license plates - driven by a "beautiful woman*" who did not stop when requested, but fled the traffic control and drove away.
The traffic police took off in pursuit and chased the woman and stopped the car in Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh. Then, according to the report, the runaway driver refused to talk to the authorities; she remained sitting in the car while furiously dialing a number on her phone.
However, in the end, the woman was taken away to the traffic police station for further action.
*"beautiful woman" is a direct translation

Forgive my lacking Khmer, but is there some translation issue that mistakes
‘sour faced, miserable...’
With
‘Beautiful...’
Or is it a cultural thing that all females must be beautiful by nature?

Every time I see "beautiful woman" in the headline, I mentally prepare for a fat cheeked porker as I click.

They make cars in China that have MG badges, they bear little resemblance to the classic British motors.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

The sad remnants of the MG rover group, split off and devoured. TATA got some of the rover bits, our Chinese brothers in arms allegedly carrying on the MG name, and BMW marketing the un-Mini.
The fact that there was anything that survived the years of BL is the biggest mystery.

Re: Beautiful Woman in an MG Tries to Escape Police
You may laugh, but when the Chinese acquired the MG brand, they believed that they had bought (Stolen/acquired/stumbled upon) the original. It wasn’t until too far down the line, they realized they hadn’t, and they risked a litany of law suits if they launched what they were planning. So their first MG iteration was a re-hash of the Rover 75. For those of us in the trade, we did have a chuckle at the Chinese expense

And good thing too. The classic British motors have a well deserved reputation for being unreliable junk.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 1:04 amThey make cars in China that have MG badges, they bear little resemblance to the classic British motors.
