Beautiful new development for Sihanoukville.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Is this the same Ream Park development project ? If so they've changed the name : https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/post117 ... am#p117947

SIHANOUKVILLE, 24 March 2016: Cambodia and 13 Chinese companies have signed agreement, late last week, to develop and supply services to its Golden Silver Gulf resort project in Sihanoukville.
There is so much going on, so many future plans for developing Sihanoukville that it's really hard to keep up.
This one is called "Silk Beach"/ "The King Strip". Images of the projected resort and development here : http://www.thekingstrip.com/index.html
Looks like a lovely place to retire to.

note as well new housing development going in at Kep
Luxury 3 bedroom villas with pools
ONLY $149,000,

Was thinking of buying land here for small resort but it seems there are apx 120 resort with an average of 10-15 rooms each ( from $4-$240/night) Already way over what is needed,
all the old small bungalows on Rabbit island are being replaced with nice wooden ones, ( cost each $4,000)

Been told the fancy new 6 lane road out of town will continue on to Vietnam in the future, now its only like 6 kms long
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

This looks to be that swampy piece of land by the fishing village off the end of the airport runway. Yes, lets build a resort by a mosquito infested swampy area at the end of a runway that when flights increase you will have planes landing right over you. At least its on land that is private land and bought/paid for, not like the well connected Chinese company that is deforesting and raping Ream Park just around the corner. My question is, is this another money laundering scam like the Pearl Mall, the Marina on Hawaii beach (owned by a Japanese fishing club with lots of tattoos), and the big housing/apartment projects near Don Bosco? Launder, Wash, Dry, Oh how the clean money rolls in.

So, when will this be opening? Just 7 minutes, plus one decade away, maybe.

I see the date on that picture as April 18 2014 ,,,,, The project must be half built by now.

I reckon if these places actually get built and used (unlike pearl city), they would have to upgrade the water treatment, sewage, garbage and probably another power station to keep up with the air cons alone! Of course better medical facilities and transport around the local area would have to be looked at but I see no mention of this in the plans!
