Farmers injured by homemade grenade

Two Battambang farmers were seriously wounded after they attempted to blow up some fish with their homemade grenade.

District police chief Sea Thy said four farmers had made their own grenades using firework powder and taken them to the river to use as a means of catching fish to sell.
“They set alight the grenade in order to throw it into the river, but it exploded immediately,” Mr Thy said. “The farmer who was holding the grenade lost five fingers and suffered facial injuries. The other suffered serious wounds.”
The two men were taken to the nearest hospital.
