Bang, Bang, Policeman Pulls His Pistol at Drinking Party
Cambodia News;(Phnom Penh): On the evening of November 19, 2020, the police from Por Sen Chey district arrested a Prek Eang intervention police officer, in connection with the crime of pulling out a gun and threatening to shoot a police officer who is also a friend of his, due to a drunken dispute.
Police arrested the policeman at his house in Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh. Authorities revealed that the suspect is Reth Sokun, aged 26, a Prek Eang Intervention Police Officer. The victim, 26-year-old Pon Sitheareach, is also a police officer.
The authorities said that on November 18, 2020 at 22:30 pm, the suspect and the victim, a friend, went to have a drink in a restaurant in Prey Sala village, Khan Por Sen Chey, with about 10 other friends.
After drinking for a while, the suspect, Reth Sokun, handed a cigarette to his friend, Pon Sitheareach. However, when passing the cigarette, the cigarette fell to the ground, and when the suspect bent down to pick up the cigarette that fell on the ground and handed it to the victim, the victim refused to take it, wanting a new cigarette.
The suspect was offended and pulled out a USA-made Glock19 handgun from a briefcase and threatened to shoot the victim, but he was fortunately stopped by his friends at the same table, who separated the two men from each other. The suspect escaped the scene and the victim filed a complaint at the Police Inspectorate of Por Sen Chey District.
Then, on the evening of November 19, 2020, the police arrested the suspect. Authorities are now questioning the suspect in accordance with the procedure, before sending him to court for legal action. (Source: CPC News)

Re: Bang, Bang, Policeman Pulls His Pistol at Drinking Party
I’m curious (whilst also being flippant)-
Given that this is frequent, if not common or normal, behaviour among the uniformed services. Will he be prosecuted, reprimanded, promoted upwards, sideways, forced to engage in a duel, or left to sleep it off? Would the rank of the offended party, or the size of the Manila envelope have a bearing on the outcome?
It would be nice to think that the equivalent relevant HR and training departments might be under review, also.

Well at least he didn't shoot the guy and barbecue his liver. He's lucky.

What the heck is an ‘intervention police’ officer? And how did he manage to afford a ‘USA Made Glock 19’ and not old, worn down PLA stuff?
I thought cops were poorly paid in the Kingdom of Wonder.
