The USA has been slipping as of late. In 2016, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Pakistan were the word leaders in the death penalty. Iran is the only country that is known to have sentenced children to death and carried out the executions last year.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2017 5:19 pm death sentence is pretty unusual anywhere in the world now, other than many barbarous states of the usa, and saudi
The number of known executions in the world in 2015 was the highest it had been since 1989. However, the number of countries that carry out the death penalty has about halved in the last couple of decades.
As the number of people sentenced to death in 2016 was much higher than in recent years, I shouldn’t think there will be any dramatic drop in the use of the death penalty soon.
In this region, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia seem to be sentencing more people death whilst the flippers have done a backflip on their previous decision to suspend the use of the death penalty.

Sure, Thailand has a death penalty, but hasn't executed anyone since 2009. I doubt they would ever execute a foreigner.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2017 5:19 pm death sentence is pretty unusual anywhere in the world now, other than many barbarous states of the usa, and saudi

I wouldn't be surprised if they execute those 2 migrant workers from Myanmar that were found guilty of murdering the British tourists on Koh Tao.John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2017 8:33 pmSure, Thailand has a death penalty, but hasn't executed anyone since 2009. But I doubt if they will be executing any farangs in the foreseeable future. However, I think it could happen if a farang were, for example, to rape and murder a princess or assassinate the king.

Inquest hears how Hells Angel was murdered in Pattaya
7 December 2017
An inquest in Sydney has heard how a former Hells Angel died after being tied to a chair and beaten to death in Pattaya.
Notorious underworld figure and Pattaya expat Wayne Schneider was abducted by masked men from his house in the resort town on November 30th 2015. His naked body was found a few days later buried in a shallow grave in jungle in Sattahip province.
In February, Pattaya Provincial Court sentenced Antonio Bagnato, 28, to death for the murder of Schneider.
Today, an inquest held at Glebe Coroner's Court in Sydney revealed details about Schneider’s murder. Acting state coroner Teresa O'Sullivan said Schneider was murdered and that he died from a blunt force injury to the head. Ligature marks were also found on Schneider’s body.
The inquest heard how Bagnato, along with three other men, had abducted Schneider due a long standing debt.
Thai police told their Australian counterparts how Schneider’s blood was found in a property rented by Bagnato.
The inquest also heard about the criminal backgrounds of both Schneider and Bagnato.
In 2006, Schneider was named one of New South Wales’ 10 most-wanted fugitives.
Heavily involved with the Hells Angels, Schneider had fled Australia for Dubai in 2012 after Australian police raided two meth labs he was connected with. He then moved to Pattaya but regularly travelled to Dubai to visit family.
Bagnato, another career criminal, is also suspected in the murder of Sydney man Brad Dillon in 2015.

According to reports in Australian newspapers, things are going to get very uncomfortable in Thailand for OMCG's and their members. It's been reported the Thai's will go after them being backed by legislative changes to call the OMCGs prescribed organised crime groups, reviewing their visas and enexplained wealth. Apparently they, the Thai's are being assisted by Australian FP.
No doubt if that happens it will probably lead to increased numbers in Cambodia in competition with these grubs parading around as Members of the Rebels.

Pattaya's HA are into some serious shit
https://www.thephuketnews.com/australia ... -65073.phpLt Gen Sommai Kongwisaisuk, commissioner of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, said today (Dec 11) that Luke Cook, 34, and Kanyarat Wechapitak, 40, were arrested after arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport on Saturday evening (Dec 9) on a flight from Australia.
They were wanted on arrest warrants issued by the Rayong Provincial Court for allegedly smuggling ya ice.
According to Lt Gen Sommai, on June 22 the couple bought 500 kilogram of ya ice from a Chinese supplier in international waters.
